Femoral Neck Fracture Study
This study is about to soon launch and will be in the β TESTING Phase.
The β-testing sites are the following institutions: Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), Children’s Hospital Colorado (COLORADO), Cincinnati Children’s (CINCY) C.S. Mott Children’s (UMICH) with Lurie Children’s Hospital (LURIE) as the lead site.
The materials for the study are found below:
1. Protocol: Please see attached document containing protocol for the Femoral Neck Fracture Study
2. Data Entry Guide: Your guide to searching for patients, identifying eligible patients, and conducting data entry.
3. β-Launch Training Video and Presentation: The site-introduction training based on our meeting (12.04.2025) led by Dr. Larson. Includes information on data entry, general housekeeping, imaging measurements, and an informal Q&A session. Specific measurement demonstrations requested in the data entry form can additionally be found with the following links (also covered in the β-Launch Training Video):
- Femoral Neck Fracture Description Demonstration
- Intraoperative Imaging Demonstration
- Femoral Neck Length Measurement Demonstration
- AVN FICAT Staging Demonstration
4. Excel Template for Imaging Measurement: This is a template that Dr. Larson and the Lurie team recommends the trained orthopaedic surgeon at each respective institute utilize if they are unable to input data directly into the REDCap. A research member may later transcribe information from the Excel sheet into the RedCap.
